ABOUT THE OWNER
My name is David Murphy, owner of Western Mass Tree Care, and my story began in 1980 while living in my hometown of Worcester. I landed my first job in the tree service industry at the age of 16, working for a local tree company in Shrewsbury. Not realizing it at the time, that was the beginning of what became a 35-year career path. I attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst in 1992 were I studied Arboriculture and Park Management and by 1993 I started Murphy’s Tree Service, which was located in Worcester. After successfully establishing Murphy’s Tree Service as a professional and reliable business within my community, I made a business decision to sell the company in 1999 and make a career change. The next years of my life took me from Worcester to Springfield and blessed me with a family. Now that my family and I are firmly settled into our community in Springfield, it was time for me to get back into the tree care industry.
I started Western Mass Tree Care with the dedication to providing our customers with the professionalism and service they seek. We focus on all phases of tree care: maintenance, pruning, trimming, planting, removal and more – so that we can assist every customer with all their tree care needs.
